Making our assessments more accessible this winter
We recognise that many children, young people and adults face lengthy waits for neurodevelopmental assessments, while the cost of private assessment can be a significant consideration.
At CADS, we are committed to providing comprehensive, individualised autism and ADHD assessments. To help make these more accessible, we have introduced reduced assessment fees over the winter months, alongside our existing flexible payment options.
Our multidisciplinary assessment process, clinical standards and commitment to understanding each individual's strengths and support needs remain unchanged.

Winter assessment fees are available for new bookings made from 20th October 2026 and will be reviewed in February 2027. Assessment appointments may take place after this date, subject to availability.
Flexible payment options
We understand that the cost of a private assessment can be a significant consideration. To help make assessments more accessible, we offer the option to spread payments across two or four instalments, at no additional cost.
Payments are arranged at agreed stages throughout the assessment process, with the full balance payable before the diagnostic outcome is provided.

All fees include the complete multidisciplinary assessment, feedback appointment and detailed written report.

Information gathering can begin beforehand, with an outcome usually provided within 1–2 weeks of the final assessment appointment.

It is important to get the diagnosis right; during this session we can discuss options for you and your family. we offer a free, brief telephone consultation explaining the assessment process and to consider whether you would like to continue with formal assessment

The assessment involves two main appointments. The first is to gather a detailed history about your child/young person's development using the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) and the Autism Clinical Interview for adults (ACIA).
The second is a direct observation exploring patterns of interaction in more detail using a standardised measure (ADOS-2;Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule;second edition).
In addition, information is also gathered from schools, colleges, universities and for adult assessments, yourself and relatives, through screening questionnaires.
The information gathered is used in a diagnostic algorithm for autism based on the DSM5.
This option includes a detailed diagnostic report, advice and recommendations

Using the DIVA 5 /Young Diva 5, core symptoms of ADHD are explored required to make the DSM 5 diagnosis. In addition, a direct observation/interview is carried out with the young person/adult, gathering information based around the DSM 5 criteria.
In addition information is also gathered from schools, colleges, universities and for adult assessments, yourself and relatives, through screening questionnaires.
The information gathered is used in a diagnostic algorithm for ADHD based on the DSM5.
This option includes a detailed diagnostic report, advice and recommendations

bespoke intervention to support people with autism & ADHD
We offer a range of services to support individuals with moving forward following diagnosis. Interventions include workshops, staff training, teaching and family support and individual interventions.
The service can be commissioned by schools, employers or families depending on what is best for your requirements.
