ADHD Assessment
ADHD Assessments at CADS (Child & Young Person)
CADS provides gold-standard private ADHD assessments, which are accepted by the NHS.

The ADHD assessment pathway includes:
-
Detailed developmental and clinical history
-
Structured ADHD interview (e.g. Young DIVA for children and adolescents)
-
Standardised rating scales (home, school, or self-report)
-
Direct observation and clinical interview
-
Multidisciplinary diagnostic review

CADS does not prescribe medication directly. If families wish to pursue medication via the NHS, private diagnostic reports are reviewed and it is at the GP’s discretion whether to refer onto the medication pathway. CADS also works in partnership with an external prescribing service for individuals aged 11 years and over, should private prescribing be preferred.

Dual Autism & ADHD Assessments
Dual Autism & ADHD Assessments (Child & Young Person)

Many children, young people, and adults present with overlapping autistic and ADHD traits. CADS offers combined autism and ADHD assessments, allowing both profiles to be explored within a single, integrated process.
A dual assessment includes:
-
Full autism assessment pathway (ADI-R, ADOS-2, school feedback)
-
ADHD-specific clinical interview (e.g. Young DIVA)
-
Additional observation and interview focusing on attention, regulation, and executive functioning
-
ADHD rating scales completed across settings
-
Multidisciplinary team diagnostic formulation

This approach reduces duplication, supports diagnostic clarity, and provides a joined-up understanding of strengths and support needs.
